some and any some and any are determiners and they express an indefinite quantity . some and any are used when it is not easy,necessary or important to say exactly how many / how much we want to mean. some and any are both used with countable and uncountable nouns.				There is ~~some~~ student in the classroom. There are some students in the classroom. There aren't any students in the classroom. I have some good friends. I don't have any friends. She needs some flour. She doesn't need any flour. They eat some cheese cake. They don't eat any cheese cake.
some some can be used with plural countable nouns. some can be used with uncountable nouns. some is often used in affirmative statements. some is also used in questions that expect a positive answer.				There are some books on the desk. He needs to buy some chairs. We had some good days. She drinks some tea or coffee at work. Bob usually makes some mistakes. I need some water. any any can be used with countable nouns. any can be used with uncountable nouns. any is often used in negative statements. any is often used in questions. any is used with singular countable nouns to refer to one of a number of things or people, when it does not matter which one.
